What does the organic seal guarantee?

Many people think that the seal of the Organic Agriculture Committee of the autonomous communities are only a local certification, however this guarantee has the same criteria and controls of the European Union in this regard. What this means is that any company that wants to place the caecv seal on its packaging must go through the same controls as any other European company and, more specifically, comply with the standards of regulation (EEC) 834/2007. For this reason, most of the packaging of products certified as organic by a regional committee also have the European seal. Some of the objectives shared by these bodies are:

  • To produce food of the highest nutritional, sanitary and organoleptic quality.
  • Preserving food safety.
  • To be environmentally sustainable and economically profitable.
  • Promote rural development.
  • Work in an integrated manner with ecosystems.
  • Increase or maintain soil fertility.
  • Maximize the use of renewable and local resources.
  • To avoid the forms of contamination that may result from agricultural techniques.
  • Maintain the genetic diversity of the agricultural system and its environment.
  • To enable farmers to earn a satisfactory income and perform rewarding work in a healthy work environment.
